Health damage from current air pollution levels.

چکیده
In 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) recommended concentrationresponse functions (CRF) for three major pollutants: fine particles (PM2.5), ozone (O3) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) in its Health Risks of Air Pollution in Europe (HRAPIE) report.3 Effects were classified into two groups: group A (pollutant-outcome pairs for which enough data are available to enable reliable quantification of effects); and group B (pollutant–outcome pairs for which there is more uncertainty about the precision of the data used to quantify the effects).3 Subsets were then chosen to identify pollutants whose effects were considered to be additive.

Development disorders may be arisen from the unavoidable maternal exposure to particulate air pollution during the prenatal life that can be affected not only periconceptional period but also postnatal life. A kind of chemical material categorized as air pollutants are present in the urine, blood and semen of exposed men and may decline sperm count and affect sperm quality. Environment toxic ca...
متن کاملAmbient air pollution and health.
The adverse health effects of air pollution became widely acknowledged after severe pollution episodes occurred in Europe and North America before the 1960s. In these areas, pollutant levels have decreased. During the last 15 years, however, consistent results, mainly from epidemiological studies, have provided evidence that current air pollutant levels have been associated with adverse long- a...
متن کاملRunning head: IMPACT OF AIR POLLUTION ON MORTALITY IN ENGLAND Do current levels of air pollution kill? The impact of air pollution on population mortality in England
The current air quality limit values for airborne pollutants in the UK are low by historical standards and are at levels that are believed not to harm health. We assess whether this view is correct. We examine the relationship between common sources of airborne pollution and population mortality for England. We use data at local authority level for 1998 to 2005 to examine whether current levels...
متن کاملHealth effects of particulate air pollution: time for reassessment?
Numerous studies have observed health effects of particulate air pollution. Compared to early studies that focused on severe air pollution episodes, recent studies are more relevant to understanding health effects of pollution at levels common to contemporary cities in the developed world. We review recent epidemiologic studies that evaluated health effects of particulate air pollution and conc...
